Creative tile manufacturer
Founded in 2002, the production workshops and the MOSAIC FACTORY brand (initially MosaicDelSur) were developed between Tangier in northern Morocco, southern Andalusia and Paris. We surfed the wave of Encaustic Cement Tiles and then Zellige, becoming a leading manufacturer of these traditional products. We then created a proprietary technology for the production of customized Terrazzo tiles, slabs and molded decorative elements.
Our evolution has been fueled by technical innovation, exchanges with decorators and architects, and creative trends in interior design. Today, we operate five plants in northern Morocco, employing a skilled team of 450 between production, sales, and logistics. Our product range now includes traditional Zellige glazed tiles, "TERRA" natural terracotta tiles, Terrazzo tech and Granito based in high performance cements and of course Traditional Cement Tiles with a library of over 5000 patterns.
Embracing digital communication from 2002 onwards, MOSAIC FACTORY has been presenting its collections and selling tiles online since the company was founded, long before we opened our first showroom in Paris in 2009. Today, our company is established in London, Paris, Madrid, Málaga, Dubai and Lisbon, where we run our own showrooms.
The distinguishing feature of our company is the customisation of the products it manufactures. In other words, the technical and operational capacity to offer our customers unique tiles and furnishing elements, to their measurements, colours, and design. With online simulation tools, advice from our technical teams and the dispatch of colour samples, you create products precisely tailored to your project.
Our production team members are experienced craftsmen who work on each piece with care. Glass and marble aggregates are precisely crushed, sifted, and selected, clay and high-performance cement mixes are precisely formulated, and glazes are delicately applied by hand. The natural air-drying stages last for weeks, while the grading, polishing, and finishing of the Terrazzo tech require multiple successive stages spread over several days.
Whether it's a kitchen backsplash for a private customer or a luxury brand's 2,000 square-meter showroom, we're involved in over ten thousand projects worldwide every year. Although most production steps are carried out by hand using traditional methods, whenever possible we develop technical processes, devices and machines that improve products, delivery times, our employees' working conditions and our environmental impact.
We source the finest raw materials as locally as possible, including cement, marble powders, mineral aggregates, and clay. For quality purposes, glazes are sourced from Spain and Germany. We recycle the water used in manufacturing processes, the heat from our ovens is used to create power, and production leftovers are repurposed. In addition, we have partnered with Tree-Nation, so that for every order we receive, a tree is planted.
In Tangier, artisanal lineage is common among our production team members where this know-how is passed down from generation to generation. We take care to preserve their skills and pass on their expertise to our youngest employees. Collaboration and teamwork are the order of the day, and we are proud of our clean, spacious, and organised factories, which enable our staff to produce the best possible product in the best possible conditions.
